Dressing your baby for nursery, the pram and the car seat

Dressing your baby for nursery, the pram and the car seat

Your baby's day rarely happens in one place. Between the pram, the car seat and nursery drop-off, their clothes need to keep up without adding to your to-do list.

Start with comfort

If you're wondering what to dress your baby in for nursery or travel, soft, breathable layers are the easiest starting point. Bodysuits, sleepsuits and simple layered pieces move with your baby and stay comfortable whether they're lying down, being carried or strapped into a seat.

Keep car seat layers light

In the car, this is about safety as much as comfort. Bulky coats and padded outerwear can stop a harness fitting properly, so it's best to dress your baby in lighter layers, fasten the harness snugly, then add a blanket over the top if they need extra warmth.

Make changes easier

Nursery days mean more outfit changes than most. Look for:

  • Easy poppers

  • Simple fastenings

  • Pieces that go on and off without a fight

Small things, but they make mornings smoother for you and for whoever's looking after your baby that day.

One outfit, most of the day

You don't need a different outfit for every stage. A soft base layer, comfortable bottoms and one easy extra layer will usually carry your baby from home to nursery to the pram without a full change in between.

Soft for them. Easy for you.
